Education Management Is Not Balanced, DPR Commission X Guards the Recruitment of a Million Honorary Teachers

Liputan6.com, Jakarta The management of education personnel is still a crucial issue in education management in the country. This was stated by the Chairman of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Syaiful Huda.

-He explained, related to education management there is an imbalance in the number of teachers with needs in the field, uneven distribution of teachers, and the lack of teacher welfare.

"We will continue to monitor the implementation of the recruitment of a million honorary teachers to become PPPK (Government Employees with Work Agreements) as part of our commitment to promote, honor, respect, and improve the welfare of teachers in Indonesia," said Huda in a written statement to Parliament, Thursday (25/11)

In the context of National Teacher's Day every November 25, Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives encourages the recruitment of a million honorary teachers as PPK to be completed before 2022.

"In fact, teachers are the backbone for the implementation of quality education. How can we expect the quality of Indonesian human resources to be qualified, if the teachers cannot educate optimally," Huda continued.

The politician from the National Awakening Party (PKB) said that the one million honorary teachers program to become PPPK was a breakthrough step for the government to solve the problem of education personnel. However, according to him, there are still many problems in its implementation.

The various problems, he added, ranged from the low number of formation submissions from the local government, the high passing grade selection, low affirmation points, to the certainty of the selection schedule.

"These various problems must be resolved immediately so that the target for the recruitment of a million honorary teachers can be completed no later than 2022. Do not let the implementation of the recruitment program for a million honorary teachers become a separate problem in the future because it will not be completed," said the West Java VII electoral district legislator.

He considered that the recruitment program for a million honorary teachers to become PPKK teachers had the potential to be prolonged. So, continued Huda, it is necessary to escort education stakeholders, -

-ranging from teacher organizations, education activists, to people's representatives.

"This program must be guarded so that the government, in this case the Ministry of Education and Culture, KemenPAN-RB, to the State Civil Service Agency (BKN), work seriously to focus on completing the recruitment of a million honorary teachers to become PPPK," he said.
